M28 The Call to Mobilize

M28: Mobilizing Creatives into the Great Commission

There is a growing sense among many of us in creative ministry that something deeper is stirring. We love serving; we love building; we love creating. But somewhere beneath the rehearsals, the sound checks, the set lists, the edits, and the deadlines is a question. 'How does our creativity fully participate in the Great Commission?' M28 exists to hold space for that question. Not as a class. Not as a program. Not as a critique of how anyone is currently serving. But as a conversation.

Why M28 Exists
In Matthew 28:18–20, Jesus gives His followers a commission to go and make disciples. For many, that word “go” feels straightforward. For creatives, it can feel complex.

What does “go” look like for:
• worship leaders rooted in a local church?
• AV teams faithfully serving behind the scenes?
• artists and writers navigating both church and marketplace spaces?
• creatives balancing calling, capacity, and season of life?

M28 was formed to explore that tension honestly and biblically. We believe creativity is not ornamental to the mission of God — it is participatory. But participation requires clarity. And clarity often begins with conversation.

What Surfaced in Our First Gathering
Our first M28 session brought together creatives from worship ministry, production, and artistic spaces. The tone was conversational and thoughtful. Several themes surfaced:

1. Tension Between Platform and Participation
Many expressed a quiet tension between performing on a platform and actively participating in disciple-making.  Where does creativity end and discipleship begin? Are they meant to be separate at all?

2. The Weight of Urgency
There was a shared sense that the cultural moment feels significant — even urgent. Yet urgency without clarity can create pressure instead of purpose. How do we discern urgency without being driven by anxiety?

3. Calling vs. Capacity
Some wrestled with practical realities:
• Time limitations
• Family responsibilities
• Ministry overload
• What does obedience look like within real-life boundaries?

4. The Need for Ongoing Discernment
Perhaps most importantly, the group affirmed that this is not a one-meeting conversation. Mobilization requires reflection, prayer, and shared wisdom over time. M28 is not about rushing to answers. It’s about cultivating discernment together.

What Comes Next
M28 will gather twice each quarter to continue this dialogue. Each gathering will create space to:
• Reflect on what God is stirring
• Share small steps taken since the last meeting
• Anchor our creativity in Scripture
• Listen well to one another

If you are a creative sensing that your work carries more than aesthetic value — if you feel the intersection of faith and creativity deserves deeper exploration — you are invited into this conversation. Let’s continue the conversation on March 28th @ 10:00am 2026
